Dao Chi San

Ji Chu once said: "Xie Xin Tang uses huanglian to treat real evil, blaming the wood for having too much, draining the child to cleanse the mother." Dao Chi San, on the other hand, uses rehmannia to treat virtual evil, blaming the water for being insufficient, strengthening the water to control the fire.
[Note] This formula originates from "Xiao’er Yao Zheng Zhi Jue." It treats cases where heart fire transfers heat to the small intestine.
