Wu Hegao (1) said: Fangfeng and Ephedra are exterior-releasing medicines, so when wind-heat is on the skin, it can be released through sweat. Schizonepeta and Mint are interior-clearing medicines, so when wind-heat is at the top of the head, it can be released through the nose. Rhubarb and Glauber's salt are interior-draining medicines, so when wind-heat is in the intestines, it can be released through the back. Talc and Gardenia are water-channel medicines, so when wind-heat is in the urinary tract, it can be released through urination. Wind affects the diaphragm, and the lungs and stomach are invaded, so Gypsum and Platycodon are lung-stomach-clearing medicines. Forsythia and Scutellaria, on the other hand, are used to dispel wandering fire in various meridians. Liver wood is responsible for wind-related problems, so Ligusticum, Angelica, and White Peony harmonize liver blood. Licorice and White Atractylodes, meanwhile, harmonize stomach qi and strengthen the spleen. This formula, except for Glauber's salt, is called "double release," meaning both exterior and interior are resolved, and ying and wei are balanced. The name "Tongsheng Powder" emphasizes the extraordinary effectiveness of this formula. According to my observation, this formula treats real heat in both exterior and interior, with no sweat on the surface and hard stools inside. No matter what the condition, it can treat everything, and is not limited to stroke treatment.

[Note] This formula was created by Liu Hejian. It is an effective formula for double resolution of exterior and interior, treating both internal and external conditions. It can be used for colds and miscellaneous ailments, and is also very suitable for blood-related conditions.
