Formula for Treating Heat Bi, September 16, 1978
Symptoms include feeling cold and having high fever, worsening in the afternoon, sore throat, redness and swelling of the joints, inability to touch the affected areas, and difficulty in movement. This is a combination of wind-dampness and heat, classified as heat bi. The formula is Gui Zhi Baihu Tang: Gui Zhi, Ma Huang, Qiang Huo, Du Huo, Fang Feng, Sheng Bai Zhu, Zhi Mu, Sheng Shi Gao, Ren Dong Teng, Sheng Yiren, Chishao, Danshen, and Sang Bai Pi. The key ingredient here is 30 grams of Sheng Yiren and 30 grams of Ren Dong Teng.
