Malignant Histiocytosis – July 8, 2002
This disease is abbreviated as MH. It is a malignant condition in which malignant histiocytes infiltrate the liver, spleen, kidneys, bone marrow, and lymph nodes, and other organs such as the heart, pericardium, lungs, pleura, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and gallbladder can also be affected. Most cases occur in adolescents, with males being more common than females. Common symptoms include: ① fever, liver and kidney damage, hepatomegaly, jaundice; ② pancytopenia, with leukopenia being the most obvious. A large number of histiocytes can be seen in blood smears or bone marrow smears. Treatment: chemotherapy can be administered using either the COP or COPP regimen. The Nanchang Leukemia Collaborative Group’s Anti-Cancer No. 7 formula includes: 30 g of raw coix seed, 10 g of yellow medicinal herb, 30 g of nightshade seeds, 3 g of Panax notoginseng, 4 black plums, and 5 g of white snake tongue grass. Decoct in water and take one dose daily. This formula achieved complete remission in seven cases of malignant histiocytosis, leading to its widespread adoption nationwide. Additional ingredients include rehmannia root, gypsum, and dayflower (for persistent fever); plus bloodroot, cranesbill, and carbon-based materials (for hemostasis).
