This product is a controlled-release morphine tablet; commercially available versions are sulfate morphine controlled-release tablets, whereas previously used morphine was hydrochloride morphine tablets, now replaced by sulfate morphine tablets. Methadone comes in three dosage specifications: 10 mg, 30 mg, and 60 mg, administered every 12 hours, preferably swallowed whole rather than chewed. Side effects include: ① severe constipation; ② difficulty breathing; ③ liver damage, contraindicated for pregnant women. Long-term use can lead to addiction.
