Chronic Stable Angina Pectoris, December 27, 2004
This type of angina is also known as asymptomatic angina. It accounts for two-thirds of all angina cases, and treating it is crucial for controlling the onset of acute, unstable angina in coronary heart disease, thereby reducing overall mortality from coronary heart disease. The goal of treating stable angina is to prevent acute myocardial infarction (AMI), reduce mortality, and extend life; to reduce the frequency of angina attacks, thereby improving quality of life. Standard medications include: ① aspirin 100–300mg to inhibit platelet aggregation; ② beta-blockers such as propranolol; ③ lipid-lowering drugs; ④ angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, including ACE inhibitors like captopril and angiotensin II receptor blockers like losartan and candesartan.
