Zhu Chenyu's Treatment for Diabetes—April 11, 1979

Basic formula: Atractylodes lancea 30 g, Yam 30 g, Scrophularia ningpoensis 30 g, Astragalus membranaceus 30 g. (Atractylodes, Yam, Scrophularia, Astragalus.)

It is said to be highly effective. Mr. Zhu often adds Rehmannia glutinosa, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Pueraria lobata, each 30 g, to form the main prescription for treating this disease. For dry heat, add Siwu Tang and Huanglian Jiedu Tang; for patients with a dark purple tongue and blood stasis, add Angelica sinensis, Red peony root, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Pueraria lobata, Mu xiang, and Motherwort. Additionally, commonly used formulas include Xuefu Zhuyu Tang, Buyang Huanwu Tang, Gexia Zhuyu Tang, and Guanxin No. 2.
