  1. Zhao Bingnan’s black cloth plaster for keloids: 2,500 g of aged black vinegar, 860 g of gallnuts, 10 centipedes, 3 g of borneol, and 180 g of honey.

Usage: First boil the black vinegar, then add the honey and continue boiling. Gradually add the gallnut powder while stirring constantly, and finally incorporate the centipede powder and borneol powder. Simmer over low heat until it forms a black paste, spread it on black cloth, and apply externally. Change the dressing every 2–3 days, and after one month of treatment, noticeable improvement will be seen.

  1. Zhang Xianwu’s crab-foot swelling ointment: 30 g of bee venom, 5 centipedes, 5 spiders, 15 g of earth-bug, 9 g of light powder, 3 g of borneol, 9 g of bright male, 10 g of purple herb, 500 g of sesame oil, and 200 g of beeswax.

Usage: First fry the bee venom, centipedes, spiders, earth-bugs, and purple herb in sesame oil until charred, then remove them and mix in the light powder, borneol, and bright male. Stir well, grind everything into a very fine powder, dissolve it in beeswax, and spread the soft ointment on oil paper to a thickness of about 0.3 cm. Apply directly to the affected area, changing the dressing every 1–2 days.

Internal use: Chaihu, pangolin scales, Prunus persica root, and pear root. Decoct in water and take one dose daily. For those with crab-foot swelling, which is essentially keloids.

  1. Zhu Renkang’s eczema formula: Poria cocos 10 g, Alisma orientalis 10 g, Sophora flavescens 10 g, Fructus psoraleae 10 g, Dendrobium officinale bark 10 g, Astragalus membranaceus 20 g, Smilax glabra 15 g, Rehmannia glutinosa 30 g, Angelica sinensis 10 g, Scrophularia ningpoensis 10 g, and Salvia miltiorrhiza 10 g. This is an oral formula, to be decocted twice daily.

There is also an external formula: Phellodendron amurense 10 g, gallnuts 10 g, Sophora flavescens 10 g, gypsum 30 g, talc 15 g, borax 6 g, indigo naturalis 6 g, and borneol 6 g. Grind all ingredients into a fine powder and mix with sesame oil for topical application.
