Previously, treatment for this disease relied on Sang Zhi Tang and Gui Zhi Shaoyao Zhimu Tang; for cold, use Ephedra, Fu Zi, Aconite; for heat, use gypsum, raw coix seed; for cold prevention, add Yu Ping Feng; for joint deformity, add Guo Xue, Chicken Blood Vine, Deer Containing Grass; for severe pain, add one centipede. Another formula is Huang (Astragalus) Huang (Ephedra) Peony and Licorice Soup, Aconite and Tiger Stick plus coix seed prevention (already done). In addition, Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang and Juan Bi Tang are also key formulas for treating arthritis. The "Chinese Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine" (Issue 5, 1981) published a formula: Five-leaf Aralia, raw coix seed, Achyranthes, Bu Gu Zhi, peppermint, Qiang Huo, Sea Wind Vine, Green Wind Vine, Qin Jiao, He Shou Wu, Xun Gu Feng.
