Broad-Spectrum Antifungal Drug—Itraconazole Capsules, February 23, 1995
This drug is a broad-spectrum oral antifungal medication that is relatively safe for short-term use. It is a second-generation product of ketoconazole, also known as itraconazole, and is highly effective against skin fungi such as dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds, especially various dermatophytes. Unlike most antifungal drugs, this one reduces liver damage to less than 3%. The main reason is that after taking the drug, it concentrates in the skin and keratinized tissues, resulting in lower concentrations in the bloodstream. After discontinuation, it can remain in the skin and keratinized tissues for a long time, still maintaining therapeutic effects. The dosage is 1–2 capsules per dose, each containing 100 mg, taken after meals.
