Acute: If there is heat, use Yuebi; if there is blood, use Afā; if there is bladder irritation, use Gentian; if there is protein, use Xiangfu stem, cicada slough, and motherwort; if there is white blood cells, use Wuwei Disinfection Drink.

Chronic: If there is spleen deficiency, use Liu Jun and Bashan; if there is kidney deficiency, use White Stone and Jisheng; if there is blood stasis, use Gui Zhi Fu Ling and Yi Shen; if the disease has lasted a long time, use Shi Ting; if there is hypertension, use Qi Ju. Adjust urine components similarly to acute cases, with white bamboo root and motherwort always used in large quantities—over 30 g—and Xiangfu stem and Yinchen each 20 g; Wuling Powder and Five-Skin Drink promote diuresis and are suitable for all edema patients.
