Severe Hepatitis with Hepatic Coma—September 25, 1995

Yu Boyang from Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, treated a severely comatose patient with hepatitis B using the following formula: Water Buffalo Horn 30g, Antelope Horn 30g, Fresh Sheng Di Huang 15g, Dan Pi 15g, Large Green Leaves 30g, Fresh Da Huang 15g, Dan Shen 15g, Mang Xiao 12g, Fresh Shan Zha 12g, Yin Chen 50g, Fresh Sheng Shi Gao 30g, Lian Qiao 15g, Huang Qin 12g, Qian Cao 15g, Sheng Shi Gao 15g, and other ingredients. The formula is a combination of Rhinoceros Horn and Di Huang Soup, Yin Chen Hao Soup, Seasoned Cheng Qi Soup, Three Yellow Heart-Clearing Soup, Qing Ying Soup, and White Tiger Soup. In the Rhinoceros Horn and Di Huang Soup, the Red Peony is replaced by Dan Shen and Qian Cao; in the Three Yellow Heart-Clearing Soup, the Huang Lian is replaced by Sheng Shi Gao; and the Large Green Leaves and Lian Qiao strengthen the anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects. The composition of this formula is not particularly special, and its effectiveness remains to be verified. My experience: Cheng Qi and Three Yellow are the main components, Yin Chen Hao can be used, but whether the Rhinoceros Horn and Di Huang Soup is effective remains unknown; Five Flavors Disinfecting Drink is definitely necessary.
