Another Case of Aplastic Anemia 1999.3.17
Mr. Qiao Dong from Tianshui was diagnosed with aplastic anemia 15 years ago and sought treatment from me. He was hospitalized three times, and each time I employed a regimen of strengthening the stomach and tonifying the kidneys, gradually achieving positive outcomes. His hemoglobin level once reached 140g/L, allowing him to return to work after recovery. However, due to occasional nocturnal emissions, he began taking kidney-tonifying medications, while relying solely on spleen-strengthening formulas like Gui Pi Tang. After three months of such treatment, his hemoglobin plummeted, his overall condition deteriorated, and his hemoglobin dropped to 56g/L.
I then resumed using kidney-tonifying agents: Rehmannia glutinosa 12g, Cornus officinalis 10g, Dioscorea opposita 10g, Moutan cortex 10g, Angelica sinensis 10g, Ligusticum chuanxiong 10g, Agrimonia pilosa 10g, Polygonum multiflorum 15g, Rheum palmatum 15g, Millettia dielsiana 15g, Salvia miltiorrhiza 15g, Carthamus tinctorius 6g, Black soybeans 20g, Gardenia jasminoides 10g, Longan flesh 10g, Semen strychni 1 (fried), Cuscuta chinensis 15g, Lycium barbarum 15g, Ligustrum lucidum 15g, Schisandra 10g, Cistanche deserticola 10g, Psoralea corylifolia 10g, and deer antler 2g, pangolin scales 6g, Astragalus membranaceus 10g, and others. Decoct in water and take one dose daily.
After taking 60 doses of this formula, the patient’s condition improved markedly, with hemoglobin rising to 128g/L and remaining stable without any downward trend. This formula combines the Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Decoction with the Four Divine Chickens Red Formula, incorporating elements of Black Mountain Dragon Horse Four Treasures, along with additional ingredients such as Psoralea corylifolia, Cortex Lignum, pangolin scales, and deer antler (broken mountain antler).
