Treatment Case of Zhao, February 5, 2001

The patient had low blood pressure and frequent colds. Recently, he would sweat profusely even with minimal exertion and felt extremely fatigued. No external symptoms such as headache or chills were observed, but he experienced five-heart heat, a red tongue, and a thin yellow coating. I prescribed Dang Gui Liu Huang Tang combined with Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang, Gui Zhi Fu Zi Tang, Gan Mai Da Zao Tang, and Ban Qiang Tang for comprehensive treatment. Dang Gui Liu Huang Tang addresses excessive heat and sweating, Gan Mai Da Zao Tang stops sweating, Gui Zhi Fu Zi Tang treats "excessive sweating after catching a cold," Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang treats "stagnation in the heart and joint pain," and Ban Qiang Tang contains ingredients that dispel wind and relieve pain, while also having a calming and sleep-inducing effect. I also added my own Fu Zheng Chong Ji to this formula. After taking three doses of this formula, the patient called to say, "The effect is excellent—sweating has stopped, I feel cooler, and the feeling of fatigue has completely disappeared!"
