Question: My sister developed a large-scale lung infection after giving birth, accompanied by pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular enlargement. She was hospitalized for over a month, but the lung infection still hasn't healed. Antibiotics have been used at the highest level, and she is still coughing up blood. What is a good treatment plan?
Answer: If there is hemoptysis, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, and lung cancer must be ruled out. After excluding these three diseases, if the lung infection alone causes pulmonary hypertension (cor pulmonale), the main treatment is anti-inflammatory therapy. Many of the current pathogens are drug-resistant, so antibiotic sensitivity testing is needed to select accurate and appropriate antibiotics. Blindly using antibiotics indiscriminately is a common flaw in the medical community today.
