Question: 30 years old. In August 2013, I was diagnosed with a vascular tumor on the right wall of the nasopharynx due to nasal congestion. I went to the Second Xiangya Hospital in Changsha for treatment and received pingyangmycin injections. The first injection did not eliminate it, so I returned two months later for another injection. The doctor said that if it is not eliminated, repeated injections are necessary until it is gone. Hearing this, I feel a bit panicked. I would like to ask for your guidance.
Answer: Vascular tumors may not necessarily be eliminated by pingyangmycin injections. Pingyangmycin is a domestically produced bleomycin, a cytotoxic drug that is effective against cancer—specifically, it can inhibit the continued division of cancerous cells. Whether it affects normal cells remains unstudied in the medical community.
