13. Regarding White Patches
Q: My son is three years old and has a white, ringworm-like patch on his forehead. At first, the doctor thought it was ringworm. We applied miconazole nitrate cream for a month, but there was no improvement; in fact, the area got larger. Later, another doctor said it was white patches and that it would go away on its own. What is this condition?
A: Since antifungal creams like miconazole are ineffective, it’s probably not ringworm. You should check whether it’s vitiligo.
