Question: I have mastitis, with a large hard lump inside, and the skin has ruptured and drained, leaving a big wound. I change dressings every day, but there’s no sign of healing. I’ve been treated at a general hospital in Lanzhou, the provincial capital, and now I’m worried about worsening symptoms at home. Can TCM cure this completely?
Answer: This is plasma cell mastitis, which falls under the category of “yin abscess” in TCM. The issue of prolonged non-healing wounds left after Western surgical procedures cannot be solved. TCM has very good therapeutic effects, such as Tuoli Tou Nong San, Xianfang Huo Ming Yin, Wuwei Xiaodu Yin, Yanghe Tang, and others, adjusted according to individual conditions. Of course, the most ideal approach is still syndrome differentiation-based treatment.
