Q: My wife is 26 years old and is on the 23rd day postpartum. She had fungal vaginitis during childbirth and also a cyst, which was removed during episiotomy. Today, during disinfection, we discovered granulation tissue near the urethral opening and labia, with yellowish mucus adhering to it. Since she is in the postpartum period, what feasible treatment options are available?
A: First, this condition does not affect the fetus: your wife’s genital area has scar tissue from the episiotomy performed during delivery. Fungal vaginitis requires treatment. Here is a simple prescription:
External Wash Formula
- Snakegourd seeds 15g
- Alum 5g
- Sophora flavescens 30g
- Phellodendron bark 15g
Add 3000ml of water, boil for 10–20 minutes, then perform a warm sitz bath—steam first, then wash. This constitutes one treatment session, twice daily.
