14. Aloe Vera
Q: Female, 24 years old, unmarried. Over the past year, I’ve frequently experienced bleeding during ovulation. A hospital ultrasound showed nothing abnormal, but the bleeding usually lasts about five days, sometimes accompanied by slight lower abdominal discomfort, like the feeling of an upcoming period. The blood color is rather dark and can stain my pants. I’m very worried and hope you can take some time out of your busy schedule to help me analyze this situation.
A: Bleeding during ovulation is a sign of insufficient estrogen. It’s important to treat it promptly. In TCM, this is referred to as disharmony between the Chong and Ren channels and failure of qi to control the blood. Women with this condition have difficulty conceiving, and even if they do, they’re prone to miscarriage or embryonic arrest.
