Prostatitis
Q: Male, 27 years old. Diagnosed with non-bacterial prostatitis. Currently taking Qianlieshutong capsules orally and inserting Qianlie’an suppositories. Are there any other treatment options?
A: The term “non-bacterial prostatitis” is somewhat inaccurate. In a 27-year-old, most cases of prostatitis are caused by retrograde infection, so it cannot truly be classified as “non-bacterial.” Only in older men with benign prostatic hyperplasia might the condition be considered “non-bacterial.” Treatment for this condition is quite challenging, requiring careful attention and long-term medication adherence; otherwise, numerous complications may arise.
