Vitiligo
Q: My daughter is nine years old and has had vitiligo for more than three years. She previously received treatment at a dermatology clinic without any improvement—on the contrary, her condition worsened. Now her entire body is white, with mostly white hair and only a few black hairs remaining. She is currently receiving internal and external treatment with traditional Chinese medicine, and after three months of use, some black spots and black hairs have begun to reappear. However, there has been no further improvement! What treatment should be used to achieve better results?
A: Vitiligo is a genetic disease, and researchers have identified genetic mutations associated with it, making it difficult to treat. Both Western and traditional Chinese medicine struggle with this condition. Although there are many treatment options, none are truly ideal.
