Infant Diarrhea
Question: My baby is almost six months old and has been having watery diarrhea since yesterday afternoon. There was no bowel movement last night, but this morning it happened again. The doctor at the hospital prescribed smectite powder and Xingpi Yang’er granules, and instructed me to only give the baby milk. Why is this happening? The baby hasn’t eaten anything special these days—why is he/she having diarrhea?
Answer: Don’t use smectite powder; it’s not an ideal choice. I recommend trying Qiwei Baizhu San and Shenling Baizhu San instead.
