Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Q: A patient with polycystic ovary syndrome has all test results within normal limits, yet still does not ovulate. Even after taking ovulation-inducing medication up to the third tablet, no ovulation occurs. Can this condition still be cured?
A: The failure to ovulate indicates insufficient estrogen levels. Simply taking ovulation-inducing drugs is not enough; ovulation will only occur when estrogen reaches a certain threshold. In this regard, traditional Chinese medicine offers numerous formulas and prescriptions for treatment. Why did ancient China produce so many renowned gynecologists? The late Ming and early Qing dynasties saw outstanding contributions from Fu Qingzhu in this field.
