Question: My mother has completed chemotherapy for lymphoma and is in good spirits. How can advanced-stage lymphoma be cured? Some say chemotherapy is inferior to TCM—what should we do?
Answer: There are two main types of lymphoma: Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. For Hodgkin’s lymphoma, the prognosis is relatively favorable, with a long disease course, and 4–6 rounds of chemotherapy are usually sufficient. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, on the other hand, has a poorer prognosis; even after six rounds of chemotherapy, follow-up treatment is often required, and radiation therapy may be necessary as well.
