1. Effects on the Cardiovascular System
Blood-stasis-removing medicines can dilate coronary vessels, cerebral vessels, and limb vessels, increasing blood flow, relieving vascular smooth muscle spasms, reducing myocardial oxygen consumption, and enhancing the ability to tolerate hypoxia. The Beijing regional collaborative group’s research on Coronary Heart Disease No. 2, the Shanxi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s research on Shixiao San, Zhejiang’s observation of Sichuan lovage, Shanghai’s observation of salvia miltiorrhiza, as well as the Beijing Pharmaceutical Research Institute and the PLA 157th Hospital’s research on Mao Dongqing—all confirm this effect.
