1.1.2.2 Chronic Type

Characterized by a slower onset and progression, with milder symptoms compared to the acute type.

  • Anemia: A chronic process, commonly presenting with pallor, fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, and shortness of breath after exertion. Symptoms improve temporarily with blood transfusions but do not persist long.
  • Infection: High fever is less common than in the acute type, and infections are relatively easier to control.
  • Bleeding: Bleeding tendency is milder, mainly affecting the skin, with rare visceral bleeding. However, advanced cases that fail to respond to prolonged treatment may experience cerebral hemorrhage, manifesting as severe headache and vomiting.
