3.1 Effect of Pei’s Shengxue Granules on inhibiting H₂₂ tumors in mice

General observation shows that from the 5th day, mice in the tumor-bearing model group began to have disheveled fur, with faint subcutaneous tumors visible in the right anterior axillary region. The mice exhibited poor mental state, reduced appetite, sluggish activity, huddling, lethargy, drowsiness, dull and matted fur, and darkened fur color. Between the 8th and 10th days after modeling, the tumors grew rapidly, with uneven surfaces and multiple nodules whose boundaries were unclear. At the end of the experiment, dissection of the model group mice revealed that the tumors had grown more vigorously than those in the drug-treated groups. In contrast, mice in all Pei’s Shengxue Granules dosage groups showed brighter fur, better mental state and appetite, and slower tumor growth compared with the model group.

Different dosages of Pei’s Shengxue Granules all had a significant inhibitory effect on the transplanted H₂₂ tumor in Kunming mice. The low-dose PG group had an inhibition rate of 29.3%, which was statistically significantly different from the model group (p<0.05); the medium- and high-dose PG groups had inhibition rates of 35.9% and 36.8% respectively, both of which were highly significantly different from the model group (p<0.01). There was no significant difference between the various PG dosage groups and the ZG group (p>0.05). See Table 1 and Figure 1.
