Dai Xinyi et al. [64] observed the effects of Shen Tao Ruan Gan Wan on immune function using tumor-bearing animal models. The results showed that the weights of the thymus and spleen in tumor-bearing mice increased, the thymus-to-body-weight ratio improved, and the activity of IL-2 (interleukin-2) increased, indicating that Shen Tao Ruan Gan Wan can enhance the body's immune function, protect immune organs, and inhibit tumor growth. Wang Peng et al. [6] observed that Sheng Mai Injection can increase the levels of CD3, CD4, and the CD4/CD8 ratio in peripheral blood, while decreasing CD8, and simultaneously raising IgA, IgG, and IgM levels, suggesting that Sheng Mai Injection can restore suppressed immune function and thus enhance its anti-tumor effect. Zhang Shaojie et al. [6] reported that secondary immune deficiency in transplanted liver cancer rats—specifically red blood cell immunity—was restored after using Fuzheng Kang Ai Fang.
