2.4 Measurement of Tumor Inhibition Rate and Thymus-Spleen Index
Twenty-four hours after the last dose, the mice are weighed, then euthanized by spinal cord dislocation. The skin of the right anterior axilla is disinfected, the tumor tissue is completely excised and weighed, then fixed in 10% formaldehyde and labeled. Subsequently, the thymus and spleen are weighed, and finally the tumor inhibition rate, thymus index, and spleen index are calculated according to the following formulas:
Tumor Inhibition Rate (%) = [(Average Tumor Weight of Model Group - Average Tumor Weight of Treatment Group) / Average Tumor Weight of Model Group] × 100%
Thymus Index (mg/10 g) = Thymus Weight / (Final Body Weight - Tumor Weight) × 10
Spleen Index (mg/10 g) = Spleen Weight / (Final Body Weight - Tumor Weight) × 10
