3.1 General Condition of Tumor-Bearing Mice

Observations begin 24 hours after modeling. On the third day, all groups of mice show localized swelling in the right anterior axilla. In the model group, the axillary tumor grows larger day by day; from the third day, food and water intake decrease, the fur becomes slightly rougher, and activity becomes sluggish and sleepy. By the seventh day, the tumor grows rapidly, the fur becomes dry and matted, food intake decreases markedly, leading to emaciation, and the mice become slow and less active. Compared with the model control group, the mice in the Pei’s Soft Liver and Anti-Bloating Pill groups have better fur color, relatively good mental activity, and slightly reduced food intake; the Cantharidin group also shows better condition than the model group.
