2. Integrated Treatment of Gastric Cancer
Traditional Chinese Medicine still believes that this disease originates from deficiency, advocating the principle of “treat the severe cases according to their nature, and the mild ones against it,” emphasizing that strengthening righteous qi and consolidating the root can prolong life. Combining this view with surgical and chemotherapy treatments represents the best current approach to treating gastric cancer. Xiangsha Liujunzi Tang with added ingredients (muxiang, sharen, dangshen, baizhu, fuling, banxia, gancao, danshen) is the preferred prescription; some patients with yin deficiency can be treated with Ye’s Yangwei Tang with added ingredients (shashen, maidong, yuzhu, huafen, shihu). For those experiencing pain, add Fufang Wumei Wan (wumei, yuanhu, chuanlianzǐ, danshen, baishao, banxia, houpu); if pain persists after taking the medication, further administer Fufang Wuyu San (wuyu, maqianzi, yujin, ganjiang, huo xiao, baishao, gancao, etc.); alternatively, use sanleng, ezhushi, wuyu, zhishi, puhuang rou, and other herbs that promote blood circulation, resolve stasis, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. If gastric cancer is not painful but bloated, add Xiaodanshen Yin to the main formula to regulate qi, broaden the middle burner, and harmonize stomach qi to reverse the flow. If the previous treatment proves effective, maintain the same prescription and continue long-term use for even better results.
