Peach Kernel Chengqi Soup

Peach kernel 5 qian, rhubarb 2 qian, mirabilite 3 qian, cinnamon 2 qian.

Cinnamon carries the wood-fire energy of the liver meridian; when liver qi is hyperactive, it immediately intensifies, and when liver qi is stagnant, it immediately flows. Therefore, this formula uses cinnamon’s dispersing properties, combining it with mirabilite, rhubarb, and peach kernel to directly target the lower jiao. It breaks up and expels blood stasis, leaving only two routes for the stasis to exit: through the large intestine and small intestine. Mirabilite and rhubarb guide the stasis out through the large intestine, while cinnamon also helps dissolve small amounts of water, adding another layer of significance.

[Comment] This formula originates from "Shanghan Lun." It is the primary remedy for bladder blood stasis. Patients with hyperactive liver qi should avoid using it.
