This formula treats visceral toxicity and aims to clear fire. Sheng Ma alone is used to disperse and release the fire, preventing it from descending and instead redirecting the heat upward, so it no longer presses downward. The wind and fire affecting the eyes and mouth can also be relieved by clearing fire and dispersing it. Sheng Ma is similar to the Ge Gen Huang Qin Tang.

[Note] This formula comes from “Lan Shi Mi Cang.” It is the main prescription for treating stomach fire rising upward and toothache and gum swelling. It can also be used to treat visceral toxicity and bleeding.
