Zhao Bingnan’s Clinical Experience in Curing Nodular Erythema July 10, 1977

The common causes of this disease are three: tuberculosis, rheumatism, and allergies. It often affects young women, causing nodules of varying sizes on both legs that are painful to the touch and show red or brown discoloration of varying intensity. This condition often needs to be differentiated from hard nodular erythema and nodular vasculitis. Zhao Bingnan achieved remarkable results by treating this condition with a compound version of Tao Hong Si Wu Tang, which can serve as a reference. The so-called compound Tao Hong Si Wu Tang is Tao Hong Si Wu Tang plus Sang Ju Huang Niu Yin Qin Gua (Tao Hong Si Wu Tang, Sang Zhi, Ju Hua, Huang Bai, Niu Xi, Jin Yin Hua, Qin Jiao, Si Gua Luo). In addition, this soup also includes Si Miao Yong An Tang, Ba Zhen Tang, and Gui Zhi Hong Hua Tang. Gui Zhi Hong Hua Tang consists of Gui Zhi, Gan Jiang, Xi Xin, Niu Xi, Wei Ling Xian, Dang Gui Wei, Chi Shao, Hong Hua, Ji Xue Teng, and Gan Cao. Mnemonic: Hong Niu Chi Cao Ji Gui Gan, Xi Xin Gui Zhi Wei Ling Xian.
