Triple prevention for hepatitis B-infected pregnant women on November 28, 2002

For pregnant women with “small three yang” status, the risk of fetal infection is virtually zero, and 95% of newborns are healthy, typically without the need for triple prevention. However, pregnant women with “large three yang” must undergo triple prevention, which usually results in 97%–99% of infants developing HBsAb antibodies. The triple prevention method is as follows: ① At 28, 32, and 36 weeks of gestation, the mother receives intramuscular injections of highly effective hepatitis B immunoglobulin at 200–400 U; ② Within 24 hours and 15 days after birth, the newborn receives highly effective hepatitis B immunoglobulin at 200 U; ③ One month, three months, and six months after birth, the infant receives one intramuscular injection of inactivated hepatitis B vaccine. The first two preventions constitute passive immunity, while the third is active immunity; together, they achieve a 99% negative surface antibody rate in newborns.
