Another Insight into Chronic Nephritis, June 16, 2003

In treating chronic nephritis, I initially used formulas such as Guifu Bawei, Guizhi Fuling, Yishen Tang, Pashan Huangtu, Shiting Baiyin Dasaogin, etc. Recently, I achieved remarkable results using the following formula: 30 g of Bai Mao Gen, 20 g of Shi Wei, 12 g of Sheng Di Huang, 6 g of Shan Zhu Yu, 10 g of Shan Yao, 6 g of Dan Pi, 10 g of Fu Ling, 10 g of Ze Xie, 10 g of Che Qian Zi, 10 g of Niu Xi, 10 g of Guizhi, 10 g of Lu Jiao Jiao (melted), 10 g of Yin Yang Huo, 10 g of Bu Gu Zhi, 10 g of Ba Ji Tian, 10 g of Dang Shen, 20 g of Huang Qi, 20 g of Sheng Yi Ren, 10 g of Ting Li Zi, 10 g of Han Fang Ji, and 20 g of Mo Han Lian. All ingredients are decocted in water and taken once daily. Generally speaking, this formula is suitable for those with spleen deficiency (Pashan), kidney deficiency (Guifu), and those with both spleen and kidney deficiencies. For long-standing cases, use Guizhi Fuling and Yishen; for severe heat patterns, use Shiting Baiyin.
