Salamander Cancer March 25, 2005
This type of cancer is relatively rare and can occur in children as well as young and middle-aged adults. Histopathological classification shows involvement of nerve sheaths and striated muscles, thus pathologically it is a combination of neurolemmoma and rhabdomyosarcoma. The most common sites of invasion are the two sides of the spinal cord where nerve roots are distributed, such as the retroperitoneum and nasopharynx. The malignancy of this disease varies depending on the degree of cellular differentiation; some patients have extremely high malignancy, while most have well-differentiated tumors. Chemotherapy primarily uses CTX, VCR, and ADM.
