Wind-Dispelling and Heat-Clearing Method for Headaches, October 13, 1978
Dr. Yue Meizhong reviewed Luo Xiyuan's "Medical Talks," which recorded a formula: mulberry leaves 9g, chrysanthemum flowers 9g, forsythia 9g, peppermint 3g, scutellaria 9g, half a lotus leaf, white angelica root 3g, white pampas grass roots 12g, artemisia 3g, prunella 12g, bitter tea 6g. It was said, "This formula is extremely effective for treating migraines and has been repeatedly tested with success." Dr. Yue documented the original formula. His daughter, Pei Fen, would get severe headaches whenever she caught a cold, with her face flushed and feverish. Although she took painkillers and antipyretics, the relief was only temporary and couldn't eliminate the problem, causing her great distress. Later, she used this formula, and sure enough, one dose reduced the pain by half, and three doses cured her completely.
