Case of Hepatitis Treatment with Gui Lian, February 20, 1979
Gui Lian has suffered from hepatitis for a long time! In the autumn of 1978, during her training at the General Hospital, she walked back and forth tirelessly, first experiencing bone-steaming heat, then pain in the liver area, followed by a significant loss of appetite, weight loss, and fatigue, though her liver function remained within normal limits. Her treatment was entirely with traditional Chinese medicine. First, she took Qing Gu San combined with Qing Hao Bie Jia Tang (Qin Jiao, Bie Jia, Di Gu Pi, Yin Hu, Hu Lian, Qing Hao, Zhi Mu, Sheng Di Huang, Dan Pi) for 10 doses, which greatly reduced the bone-steaming heat. Then, she added a family recipe from the Yang family, taking more than 10 doses, and the liver pain disappeared. Afterwards, she used the Yang family recipe plus Ho Xiang, Peilan, Cao Dou Kou, and Sha Ren, taking five doses, which increased her food intake. At this point, her liver disease was basically cured! Additionally, she had excessively heavy menstrual periods, with great suffering every month. After this treatment, her menstrual flow decreased significantly, something that hadn't happened in over ten years. I've always thought that the combination of Qing Gu San and Qing Hao Bie Jia Tang is truly a miraculous formula for treating excessive menstrual bleeding due to blood heat! This formula belongs to the category of yin-nourishing, fire-clearing agents. According to Fu Qingzhu's Qing Jing San, which is the main formula for treating excessive menstruation and early periods, its composition includes Qing Hao, Huang Bai, Sheng Di Huang, Bai Shao, Bai Fu Ling, Dan Pi, and Di Gu Pi. This formula is also a yin-nourishing agent, indicating that yin-nourishing and fire-clearing can indeed stop menstrual bleeding!
