Case of Hypertension Complicated by Arteriosclerosis—April 8, 1979

Treating hypertension complicated by arteriosclerosis is often challenging. Over the past two years, I have mainly used the following formula to treat this condition, achieving remarkable results.

Curculigo orchioides 10 g, Epimedium 10 g, Morinda citrifolia 10 g, Anemarrhena asphodeloides 6 g, Phellodendron amurense 6 g, Angelica sinensis 10 g, Achyranthes bidentata 30 g, Raw dragon bone and raw oyster shell each 15 g, Raw ochre 15 g, Raw white peony root 15 g, Raw Rehmannia glutinosa 15 g, Yam 10 g, Prunella vulgaris 15 g, Mistletoe 10 g, Scutellaria baicalensis 6 g, Uncaria rhynchophylla 10 g, Aristolochia fangchi 15 g.

This formula is a combination of the Erxian Tang, Jianling Tang, and Prunella Tang formulas. When necessary, Qiju Dihuang Tang can also be added.
