Discussion on Hepatitis B, January 8, 1985

Hepatitis B virus is a DNA virus with a diameter of 35–42 μm. Currently, three antigen systems have been identified: surface antigen (HBsAg), core antigen (HBcAg), and e antigen (HBeAg), along with corresponding antibodies for each of these three antigens. Surface antibody (HBsAb), core antibody (HBcAb), and e antibody (HBeAb)—these three sets of antigen-antibody constitute what is known as the “three systems” of hepatitis B.

The incubation period for hepatitis B is approximately 60 days.
