Analysis of Benign Biliary Diseases 1986.2.20
Benign biliary diseases clinically include cholangitis, cholecystitis, and gallstones. Among them, acute cholecystitis accounts for 23.4%, chronic cholecystitis for 35.0%, cholangitis with gallstones for 21.5%, cholecystitis and pancreatitis for 12.6%, and post-biliary surgery syndrome for 7.5%. Due to reduced neurohumoral responsiveness in the elderly and less obvious local pain, biliary diseases are often misdiagnosed. Some patients are hospitalized for high fever, others for vomiting, and still others for fatigue and loss of appetite. For such patients, combined Chinese-Western medicine treatment should be the preferred approach. During the winter of the Ji Zi year, my father suddenly developed high fever, and despite trying numerous Western medicines, he remained unresponsive. A Western medical examination revealed chronic cholecystitis. After taking traditional Chinese medicine and receiving intravenous ampicillin, he eventually recovered.
