Shiwei Baidu Tang for Treating Unexplained Fever, June 12, 1986
Shiwei Xiaodu Yin: Schizonepeta, Saposhnikovia, Poria, Chuanxiong, Bupleurum, Cinnamon, Cherry Bark, Dried Ginger, Licorice, and Angelica. This formula is derived from Jingfang Baidu San with modifications: Qianhu, Qianghuo, and Zhike have been removed and replaced with Cherry Bark, Dried Ginger, and Licorice. The formula originates from Japan’s Hanaka Wataru. Yashiki Michiaki pointed out in “Explanation of Kampo Prescriptions” that this formula is used for suppurative diseases and early-stage skin conditions; therefore, in addition to clearing heat and detoxifying, it can also desensitize. (Ogata Tatsuyoshi, “Clinical Applications of Kampo”)
