A Lesson Learned from Liver Disease, April 28, 1991
In the year of Xinwei, Gui Lian suffered from liver disease and took Chaihu Shugan and Qianggan Tang combined with Jinlingzi San, Zhili Ruxiang, and Meiyao, but saw no obvious improvement. After reviewing “Bihua Yijing” and “Clinical Treatment of Internal Medicine in Traditional Chinese Medicine” along with personal experience, I formulated a new prescription consisting of Sini San combined with Sanleng, Ezhu, Gualou, Guixin, Jianghuang, and Qingpi. Taking just one dose immediately relieved the liver pain, and continued use prevented any recurrence.
Mnemonic: Sanleng Ezhu Gualou Xin, Sini San with Jianghuang Qing.
