Classification of Antitumor Chemotherapy Drugs August 29, 1994
They are generally divided into six categories:
① Alkylating agents: nitrogen mustard, cyclophosphamide, busulfan, thiotepa, carmustine. The latter two drugs affect the ovaries and testes, respectively.
② Antimetabolites: fluorouracil, allopurinol, methotrexate, cytarabine.
③ Antibiotics: mitomycin, actinomycin, bleomycin, doxorubicin, pingyangmycin.
④ Plant alkaloids: vincristine, vinblastine, camptothecin, colchicine, procarbazine.
⑤ Heavy metals: cisplatin, carboplatin.
⑥ Traditional Chinese herbs: baihuasheshicao, banzhilian, huzhang, chonglou, shengyiren, wugong, chan su, zhuling, diyu, xianhecao, yadanzi.
