Another Treatment Experience for Chronic Nephritis on July 17, 1995

In the spring of the year of Yihai, I treated the younger brother of Zhang Yan, head of the Organization Department of the Railway Bureau, who suffered from chronic glomerulonephritis with proteinuria (+) and occult blood (+). After three days of medication, both proteinuria and occult blood disappeared, but the symptoms recurred upon stopping the medication. Later, I used: donkey-hide gelatin, blood residue charcoal, raw Rehmannia, angelica, Ophiopogon, gardenia, danpi, salvia, gentian, bupleurum, scutellaria, talc, woodruff, licorice, Poria cocos, Alisma plantago-aquatica, Plantago psyllium. After taking over 100 doses of this formula and then stopping the medication, there has been no recurrence for three months. This shows that for nephritis, it is best to use traditional Chinese medicine for a long period; results usually appear after about two months, which is not too late! According to my experience, when treating glomerular nephritis, the following formulas are often effective: ① Acute nephritis: Yuèbì Tang combined with Wuwei Disinfection Drink and Wuling Powder, as well as Gentian Liver-Clearing Decoction. ② Chronic nephritis: Jisheng Kidney Qi, Bu Zhong Yi Qi, Wuling Powder, Liu Jun Tang, Five-Skin Drink, Bashan Huang Tu, Gui Zhi Fu Ling, Yi Shen Tang, Afā Jian Mai, Gentian Liver-Clearing, Er Xian Dan, Er Zhi Wan, Real Gold Cicada Fish Benefit Combined with Su, First Priority (white thistle, white bamboo root) Three Stones. In summary, for acute cases, Yuèbì, Gentian, and Wuwei are preferred; for chronic cases, Bashan, Jisheng, Gentian, and Afā are preferred. The former is suitable for those with protein predominance, while the latter is suitable for those with occult blood predominance.
