Application of Bixie on July 18, 1995

Bixie is the tuberous root of a perennial climbing herbaceous plant belonging to the Dioscoreaceae family, growing in shady, moist areas near streams. It has a bitter, neutral taste and enters the liver, stomach, and kidney meridians, relaxing muscles and activating collaterals, removing dampness and clarifying turbidity. When combined with Poria cocos, licorice, sweet flag, and Lindera, it forms Bixie Clarifying Drink. Its main indication is frequent white turbidity, which can congeal into oily paste; some patients also experience muscle pain.
