Reconsideration of Jiang Bi Hua’s Cold Prescription on August 1, 1995
Jingjie 10 g, Fangfeng 12 g, chuanxiong 10 g, fresh ginger 6 g, Xiangfu 6 g, Xiangye 6 g, tangerine peel 6 g, wild grape 10 g, licorice 6 g.
Mnemonic: Chuan Jiang Man Man Jing Fang, Xiang Su Yin in this formula.
This formula is Mr. Jiang Bi Hua’s special prescription for treating colds. I believe this formula is suitable for colds caused by wind-cold combined with stomach issues. The stomach is where the middle qi resides and where wei qi originates. When stomach qi is damaged, wei qi lacks source, and pathogenic qi takes over. Chuan Jiang Man Jing Fang disperses cold and releases the surface, while Xiang Su Yin clears stomach qi—thus curing the disease!
