Clinical Use of Salbutamol—November 22, 1995

Also known as albuterol, kubilin, and ventolin, this medication can be administered orally or via nebulization. Oral administration takes about fifteen minutes to take effect, while nebulization takes five minutes. This drug belongs to the adrenergic class and is ten times more potent than isoprenaline, but its cardiac stimulant effect accounts for only one-tenth of its overall potency. Each tablet contains 2 mg, and the dosage is 2–4 mg per dose, three times a day.
